Simcoe is the heart of Norfolk County. As the county seat and largest town in the region, it has everything you need day-to-day without feeling like a city. Around 16,000 people call it home. You’ve got grocery stores, good restaurants, Norfolk General Hospital for healthcare, and schools from kindergarten through high school. It’s the kind of place where you can walk into a shop and the owner knows your name.

Location-wise, you’re about 40 minutes from Brantford and just over an hour from Hamilton. Close enough if you need to commute, but far enough that it actually feels like you’ve come home at the end of the day.
For families, the schools are solid. Grand Erie runs several elementary options in town like Elgin Avenue and Lynndale Heights, and kids head to Simcoe Composite for high school. If you’re into community events, the Christmas Panorama at Wellington Park is worth mentioning. It’s been running every holiday season since 1958 and people drive from all over Ontario to see it.
Simcoe is in Norfolk County, southwestern Ontario. It’s about 40 minutes south of Brantford on Highway 24, roughly 90 minutes from Toronto, just over an hour from Hamilton, and only 15 minutes from Port Dover if you want to be near the lake.
You’ll find a real mix here. There are older character homes in the downtown core, newer builds in the subdivisions, and plenty in between. Prices are generally more affordable than what you’d pay in larger Ontario cities, and most of the housing stock is single-detached. Give us a call if you want current numbers.
Grand Erie District School Board covers this area. For elementary, there’s Elgin Avenue, Lynndale Heights, and West Lynn. High schoolers go to Simcoe Composite. If you need Catholic schools, those are available in the county too.
